Triun is looking for an experienced construction superintendent to effectively supervise and manage water and sanitary sewer projects. The job requirements and responsibilities include:
· To provide leadership and to establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working environment.
· Supervise staff involved in water treatment or sanitary sewerage plant operations, sanitary sewer collection system maintenance, and water distribution system Overseeing daily operations of pumping stations, storage tanks, and lift stations
· To plan and review the Construction Program with the Project Manager including quality control procedures, safety & security practices, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment and manpower.
· Ensuring adherence to all applicable environmental regulations regarding water quality and wastewater discharge.
· Monitoring water quality parameters and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
· Manage emergency response to water supply disruptions or contamination.
· Schedules and provides labor, as needed. Reviews and monitors labor efficiencies, hours, and ratios. Training and evaluating staff involved in water and sewer operations.
· To have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the General Contract, Subcontracts, the contract drawings, specifications & addenda.
· To examine the contract drawings, specifications & addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations, and to bring these to the attention of the Project Manager
· Tracks and monitors materials costs, storage, consumed, and ordered to identify potential problems while minimizing cost and over runs to the Company. Prepares, reviews, distributes, and/or maintains all required installation documentation. Ensures Company policies and guidelines are followed.
· To assist the Project Manager in the refinement of the Project Schedule and to see that the job meets the various required dates.
· Monitors and addresses safety hazards or potential problems with Superintendents, Foremen and Safety Managers.
· Maintains on going and open communication with Superintendent, Foreman, site management and employers, Project Managers, and clients.
· Attends meetings with the owner, Company management, Contractors, Foreman, and others, to effectively maintain project schedules and completion.
· Interacts effectively with clients, contractors, management, and other employees while promoting a positive customer service environment and positive work climate.
· Schedules subcontractors and material deliveries to maintain the project schedule.
· Coordinates with subcontractors, project managers, clients, design team and inspectors to schedule required project inspections.
· Performs daily quality control inspections to verify materials installed and methods of construction meet contractual requirements and local, state, and federal codes.
· To cooperate with the activities of the inspection agencies, and to effect remedial actions indicated by the reports of these agencies.
· Review pay applications
· Maintain required construction certifications for compliance with federal or other public agencies.
· Be on site at all times, except for excused time off, during any construction activities.
· Travel as needed.
Job Requirements
· 15+ Years experience in the industry with 5+ years as a superintendent
· Extensive experience in water system distribution installation for minor and major (24 inch and greater) lines including service laterals and meter installation
· Knowledge of regulatory requirements for sanitary sewer main and service lateral installation.
· Must be able to effectively read plans and specifications
· Knowledgeable of surveying process
· Proficiency with computer programs especially basic knowledge of Microsoft word and excel
· Ability to positively lead and manage field personnel and subcontractors
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills
· Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
· In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
